| Description: | This article presents a brief study of the main causes of corruption in the context of democratic societies and its purpose is to contribute to its recognition and analysis. Under the assumption that corruption is a social phenomenon that generates significant damage to democracy, the economy and human rights, it is necessary to study it from different perspectives in order to understand and identify it and to provide better conceptual tools for the design of strategies to address it adequately. In this context, the identification and study of the causes and factors behind corruption can be useful to develop tools and public and legislative policies to address it. Este artículo presenta un breve estudio de las principales causas que producen corrupción en el contexto de las sociedades democráticas y su finalidad es contribuir a su reconocimiento y análisis. Bajo el supuesto que la corrupción es un fenómeno social que genera importantes perjuicios para la democracia, la economía y los derechos humanos, se hace necesario estudiarla desde diversas perspectivas, a fin de entenderla e identificarla para entregar mejores herramientas conceptuales para el diseño de estrategias que permitan abordarla adecuadamente. En este contexto, la identificación y estudio de las causas y factores que están detrás de la corrupción puede resultar útil para poder elaborar herramientas y políticas públicas y legislativas para hacerle frente. |
