Description:	Fifteen years after its entry into force, this text deals with the negotiation process of the Japan Mexico Economic Partnership Agreement. After a brief introduction describing the historical context, it is discussed the relevance of the agreement for both countries, the manner in which the agree-ment was structured to maximize its benefits, the precursors of the negotiation, its development and the efforts implied, and the breakup crisis and the resumption of the conversations. Its happy ending and general results with some conclusions finalize the document. A 15 años de su entrada en vigor, en este texto se trata sobre el proceso de negociación del Acuerdo para el Fortalecimiento de la Asociación Económica entre los Estados Unidos Mexicanos y Japón (aae-mj). Después de una breve introducción donde se describe el contexto histórico del acuerdo, se discute sobre la importancia del acuerdo para ambos países, la manera como se estructuró para potenciar sus beneficios, los preludios del proceso de negociación, el desarrollo y el esfuerzo que implicó la negocia-ción, y la crisis del rompimiento en las pláticas y su reanudación. Su feliz terminación y sus resultados. Con una breve sección de conclusiones finaliza el documento.
