Ésta se verá más tarde dividida en dos partes, dando lugar a dos colonias: uno bajo dominio español, Santo Domingo y el otro bajo dominio francés, hoy conocido como Haití.Se reflexiona sobre la importancia del Caribe como zona geopolítica y estratégica y de la ingente necesidad que tiene el capitalismo de vivir del despojo y de la explotación, vía procesos de colonización, intervenciones y ocupaciones militares. Estas acciones son las que desatan la emigración haitiana por el Caribe y por el mundo.___________________________________________________________________ In this essay, we intend to review the history in order to demonstrate the origin of anti-Haitianism and of the discrimination that emerges from it towards the Haitians in Dominican Republic. Therefore, in the first section, we will analyze the geopolitical and economic dispute between the major colonizing powers, namely Spain, France and England and their consequences on the Hispañola island. This, will later be divided into two parts, giving rise to two colonies: one under Spanish domain, Santo Domingo and the other under French dominion, today known as Haiti.In addition, in this essay, we reflect on the importance of the Caribbean as a geopolitical strategic area and of the enormous need that capitalism lives from dispossession and exploitation, through processes of colonization, military interventions and occupations. These actions are what will initiate human mobility or regional as well as continental emigration in the Haitian case |
