Description:	This paper aims to analyze some aspects of the role of television, especially those in connection with some of its products of fiction. Such products are considered as texts which interpret not only the changes, but also the elements which remain as representative of the evolution of Spanish society. Two Spanish soap operas, "La Señora " (The Lady) and "Amar en tiempos revueltos " (Loving in Troubled Times), are at the center of this analysis.The study also examines the strategies introduced in the programs, not only with the purpose of entertaining, but also of providing the viewers with clear explanations used to generate veracity and rigour to the stories. El presente trabajo pretende realizar una aproximación al papel de la televisión y, más concretamente, de algunos de sus productos de ficción, considerados éstos como textos interpretadores tanto de las mutaciones como de las pervivencias en la evolución de la sociedad española. Para ello analiza dos telenovelas de producción española, "La Señora" y "Amar en tiempos revueltos", así como algunos formatos anexos, aparentemente informativos. De hecho, todos ellos proponen un ejercicio de interpretación de la reciente historia española desde la ficción. Del mismo modo, se analizan las estrategias, de corte entretenido a la vez que explicativo, que estos programas utilizan para imprimir veracidad y sentido riguroso a sus relatos.
