Title:	Social work with indigenous women Trabajo social con mujeres indígenas

Description:	With an increase in the number of indigenous people migrating to Nuevo León in Mexico, and centering our attention on women who are currently heading households, a proposal for community level intervention is made on the basis of social work adopting a critical approach in Ampliación los Nogales, in the municipality of Escobedo, Nuevo León. The community is inhabited by members of ethnic groups such as the Otomí, Nahua, Mixteca, Zapotec, Teenek and Mazahua. A review of the literature and observations made in the community confirm that when they join the community and want to feel part of it, some indigenous women have stopped sharing with their children the traditions and customs that are an important part of their identity and one of their most valuable assets. The idea of the project is to rescue the local knowledge of each ethnic group in order to help them obtain grants that will give them more income but most importantly so they can share their cultural heritage.  Ante el incremento de la migración indígena en Nuevo León, México, centrando nuestra atención en las mujeres que son actualmente jefas de familia, se plantea una propuesta de intervención a nivel comunitario desde el trabajo social con una perspectiva crítica en la comunidad Ampliación los Nogales, municipio de Escobedo, Nuevo León, donde habitan pobladores de etnias como la otomí, nahua, mixteca, zapoteco, teenek y mazahua.  De acuerdo con la revisión de literatura y las observaciones hechas en la comunidad, ante la inserción en una nueva comunidad, y con el afán de sentirse integradas, algunas mujeres indígenas dejan de compartir con sus hijos las tradiciones y costumbres que forman parte importante de su identidad y riqueza. Por ello se pretende rescatar los saberes locales de cada una de las etnias para buscar acceder a apoyos para un mejor ingreso, pero sobre todo para que compartan sus herencias culturales.
