Description:	Activism related to the defense of human rights is a human right for itself. Nowadays it is of the interest by international organization due to its medullar role for the construction of participative democracy and citizenship. In México, defenders of human rights face a stressing assignment, a dangerous activity and a task easy to social stigmatization and criminalization from the State. As a result, many activists decide to resign, debilitating the movement of social justice. The aim of this article is to propose strategies based to the straitening of compassion as a central element for the self-care in activists. It was designed an experiential workshop of 16 hours for human rights activists in the city of Puebla, México. At the end, it was demonstrated the effectiveness of straitening compassion to create a sustainable activism and to foment a culture of pace in our country. El activismo relacionado con la defensa de los derechos humanos es un derecho humano por sí mismo. Actualmente es de interés internacional debido a su papel medular en la construcción de una democracia participativa y de ciudadanía. En México, los defensores de los derechos humanos se enfrentan a una tarea demandante, peligrosa y sujeta a la estigmatización y criminalización, lo cual tiene como resultado unadeserción que debilita a los movimientos de justicia social. Este artículo se centra en plantear estrategias para el fortalecimiento de la compasión con un enfoque científico, como elemento central del autocuidado de los activistas. Se diseñó un taller vivencial de 16 horas para defensores de derechos humanos de la ciudad de  Puebla. Al finalizar se mostraron las formas en las que el fortalecimiento de la compasión contribuye a lasostenibilidad del activismo y a fomentar la cultura de la paz en el país.
