dc.descriptionNowadays, the digital economy has been consolidating worldwide, producing all kinds of impacts on the productive, commercial and service sectors. Although its origins date back to the 1980s, it is in the 21st century when it is consolidated to the extent of being known as the digital era. Its deve-lopment leads to consider that the competition for global supremacy passes through the sieve of this digital economy. Based on a holistic method, this paper analyzes the evolution and materialization of the digital economy. Contrasting with the Chinese case, being one of the most illustrative on the potential and importance of the digital economy. Notwithstanding, it is reasonable to consider the following hypothesis: if China manages to prevail in the digital race, it will probably dominate the global economy, becoming the economic hegemony in the xxi century.en-US
dc.descriptionLa economía digital se ha consolidado recientemente en el mundo, generando todo tipo de impactos sobre los agentes económicos. Ha impactado a los sectores productivo, comercial y de servicios. Si bien sus orígenes datan de los años ochenta, es en el siglo XXI cuando se consolida a grado tal de conocerse como la era digital. Su desarrollo lleva a considerar que la competencia por la supremacía global pasa por el tamiz de dicha economía digital. Con base en el método holístico, en el presente artículo se analiza la evolución y surgimiento de la economía digital, contrastando con el caso chino, que es uno de los más ilustrativos en torno al potencial e importancia que dicha economía tiene en la actualidad, lo que lleva a plantear la hipótesis de que la economía digital contribuye para que China siga en su disputa por la hegemonía económica global.es-ES
