dc.description	The return of Halley’s comet in 1910 became a popular event because of its scientific importance and the controversy surrounding it. Although this event was publicized through different media, this paper aims to specifically study the popularization process documented in the Mexican newspaper El Imparcial. Our methodology is based on qualitative content analysis, through which we identified four main themes: ‘scientific explanation’, ‘controversy’, ‘public interest’ and ‘expectations for 1986’. The examination of these themes reveals the people who promoted the dissemination, the interests and strategies of the press, and the public’s reaction.	en-US
dc.description	El regreso del cometa Halley en 1910 fue un suceso que se popularizó debido a su importancia científica y a la controversia suscitada en torno a él. Si bien la difusión de este evento se realizó por diferentes medios, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo estudiar específicamente el proceso de popularización documentado en el diario mexicano El Imparcial. Nuestra metodología se basa en el análisis cualitativo de contenido, con el cual identificamos cuatro temáticas centrales: “explicación científica”, “controversia”, “interés del público” y “expectativas para 1986”. El estudio de estas temáticas evidencia a los personajes que impulsaron la divulgación, los intereses y estrategias de la prensa, así como la reacción del público.	es-ES
