dc.description.abstract | Un servicio de salud es un sistema socio-técnico complejo que incluye múltiples usuarios en situaciones de vulnerabilidad, la mayoría de las veces dentro de un entorno construido. Este elemento físico moldea y determina, en parte, la prestación del servicio al mejorar (o no) el desempeño de sus actores; pero también, al tener un impacto en cómo se sienten sus usuarios. Este estudio de caso se basó en una tesis anterior que se centró en las necesidades de información dentro del servicio, desde una perspectiva de diseño de servicios inclusivos. En él, el entorno construido fue reportado como un obstáculo debido a sus características. Por esta razón, se consideró que valía la pena realizar un estudio a profundidad de cómo y por qué existían estos obstáculos. Se eligió un método de estudio de caso debido a la naturaleza de las preguntas de investigación y a la novedad de algunos de los conceptos en su marco teórico. El estudio consistió en tres etapas; la primera, consiste en dos auditorías físicas; la segunda, una encuesta a pacientes y acompañantes llenada por 50 usuarios; y la tercera, tres entrevistas a trabajadores hechas en 2016 y una, en 2018. A lo largo de esta serie de estudios se encontraron y confirmaron obstáculos específicos del entorno construido, todos ellos reportados por diferentes fuentes: investigadores, trabajadores y pacientes. El diseño ineficiente, los altos niveles de ruido y la falta de asientos fueron los más evidentes, por nombrar algunos. Utilizando un enfoque explicativo, se sugirió que lo que dio origen a estos problemas fue que las leyes no tienen en cuenta la experiencia del usuario y que no se toma en consideración lo que implica brindar y recibir un servicio. Finalmente, se concluyó que incluir estos dos aspectos en la legislación es necesario para avanzar hacia un diseño inclusivo en los espacios de servicios para las unidades ambulatorias en México. | |
