| Descripción: | Since 2009, the Instituto de Investigaciones en Comportamiento Alimentario y Nutrición (IICAN) of the University of Guadalajara has been among the pioneering Mexican institutions in the study of eating behavior, emphasizing multi, trans and interdisciplinary research on food phenomena and the importance of education on these topics not only to broaden knowledge, but also to obtain tangible results in terms of human and animal health and well-being. Undertaking this editorial project was one of the goals of the members of IICAN since its foundation, with the aim of creating a forum where the most up-to-date research of consolidated academics, young researchers, and students at the beginning of their careers could be disseminated. We consider that the novelty of the Journal of Behavior and Feeding is that it will be a space where all disciplines - from molecular biology to sociology - and all study subjects - from insects to human and non-human primates - are welcome. The common denominator will simply be 'eating behavior', understood as everything that organisms do to feed themselves.
El Instituto de Investigaciones en Comportamiento Alimentario y Nutrición (IICAN) de la Universidad de Guadalajara se ha ubicado desde 2009 entre las instituciones mexicanas pioneras en el estudio del comportamiento alimentario, haciendo énfasis en la investigación multi, trans e interdisciplinaria de los fenómenos alimentarios y en la importancia de la educación en estos temas para no solo ampliar el conocimiento, sino también para obtener resultados tangibles en cuanto a salud y bienestar humano y animal. Emprender este proyecto editorial era una de las metas de los integrantes del IICAN desde su fundación, para crear un foro en donde se pudieran difundir y divulgar los trabajos más actuales de académicos consolidados, investigadores jóvenes y estudiantes al inicio de sus carreras. Consideramos que lo novedoso del Journal of Behavior and Feeding es que será un espacio en donde todas las disciplinas -desde la biología molecular a la sociología- y todos los sujetos de estudio -desde insectos hasta primates humanos y no humanos- son bienvenidos. El denominador común será simplemente el comportamiento alimentario, entendido como todo lo que hacen los organismos para alimentarse. |
